Our busy lives are often surrounded by stressors:
Work, Home, Study, Relationships, Exercise!
Let us help you to find lifestyle balance today!
Myotherapists are specialists in chronic and acute soft
tissue (muscle, tendon, ligament and fascia) problems, using
a variety of techniques to assess, treat and prevent
muscular pain and dysfunction. Sessions are designed
to relax muscles, alleviate pain in different parts of the
body while increasing strength, blood flow, flexibility, and
energy within muscles.
Myotherapy is not just effective in treating elite athletes,
but is valuable for everyone, from mums juggling the many
tasks that mums deal with day to day, to corporate managers
and their employees in reducing the muscular pain
caused by repeated stress and tension in the workplace.
Muscular pain is often not specific and patients often describe
it as a 'deep ache', 'tightness' or as 'tenderness' in an
area. It can vary in intensity and radiate to other areas.
Other symptoms can include: a reduced range of motion of muscles
and joints, stiffness, fatigue, weakness, numbness or a tingling
sensation.
The aim of Myotherapy is to treat the cause as well
as the symptoms of a wide range of conditions. Through
identifying and treating areas of tension, muscle spasm, muscle
imbalance and dysfunction.
Myotherapists
help relieve pain associated with:
- Stress and Tension
- Headaches
- Neck and Back Pain
- Sports Injuries
- Work Tension and repetitive activities
- Muscle pain and dysfunction
|
As well as releasing stress and tension,
myotherapy can promote faster healing of
strained muscles and sprained ligaments, by reducing
pain and swelling and reducing the formation of excessive
scar tissue. Myotherapy provides greater joint flexibility
and range of motion which reduces risk of future injury.
Our treatments are interactive and aim to help educate our
clients in ways to control the stress placed on their muscles,
and corrective exercises are included to
help our patients remain pain free.
The
techniques our Myotherapists may use include:
- Soft tissue manipulation
- Deep Tissue Massage
- Thermal therapy / Cryotherapy
- Trigger Point Therapy
- Postural assessment and correction
- Myofascial dry needling
- Corrective exercises (stretches, strength)
- Myofascial release
- Core stability exercises
- Cupping
- TENS Therapy (Use of light electrical current for
muscle stimulation)
The specific modality
or therapy used will be dependant on each client’s
specific needs. |
